Hey Just graduated Uni of Edinburgh with a 2:1 in Ancient History. Marks by year:

  • Y1: ~49%
  • Y2: ~52%
  • Y3: ~58%
  • Y4: ~72% (incl. 72 on dissertation, two 78s)

Honours-only average (Y3+Y4) is above65%. All-four-years average is ~58%.

Im hoping to applying to KCL for a masters in international management. Their requirement says "65% calculated from all years of study." Pre-honours years don't count toward the Scottish classification, but I'm worried an English admissions office will just average everything and bin me.

Anyone applied to KCL/UCL/LSE/Oxbridge with a similar Scottish profile? Is it worth applying this cycle, or am I wasting the application fee? Do they actually weight honours years more heavily for Scottish degrees in practice?

Cheers.
