Ima be real, I wish the beam clashes were similar to the old styles or something similar to DBZ: Kakarots

I think between Kakarot and BT3 were the best

I don’t appreciate how the characters and beams center on the map the same way every clash… at that point it really just feels like I’m playing Legends

I miss the different angles, lengths, and even the clash point in the previous games mentioned had a better detail to the point where it actually looked the 2 beams were merging and created a whole different hue and you could also tell who was winning in real time. It honestly would add a lot more nuance to each battle

I hope they update beam clashes at some point, or have a better system in the next overall series installment becuz I think they slightly missed with beam clashes in this game

Also why can’t characters be disintegrated anymore? As a longtime dbz fan, it’s a lil underwhelming? We need that back.. is it based off the game’s age rating ?

We could also use a destroyed earth again of some sort..

Michael’s career and life writes itself, he literally has different versions of himself musically, physically, and mentally. This would’ve also allowed the pacing and gravity of certain songs, dance moves, scenes, and moments (including scandals + pain-meds) throughout his life to be well covered. I’m not so sure if there’s an Individual who had so much nuance readily available for a biopic.

I still am grateful and enjoyed the original movie, but I think, they should’ve slated 3 movies from the start and here’s what I think would’ve been a maximized execution of bringing his life to the big screen.

Movie 1: Kid Michael to the Beginning of Off the Wall

This easily would cover everything from the start. There are songs and stories to tell from this era that even me myself I’m not aware of.

This also would’ve been the best chance for the brothers to get a little of their stories to be told. His relationship with Diana Ross, the Wiz, and how he got involved with Quincy. It could stop either at the beginning or the end of him finishing Off the Wall

Movie 2: Quincy Jones + Michael Era to 1991-1993 (it could stop here truly)

Here would be the 2nd movie which would’ve easily brought in more at the box office following the first, because this was Michael’s peak. Focusing on the mass hysteria of wonder he had on the world. Marketing and tone for this movie could’ve been equivalent to what that era was like

Starting with covering the drama behind his independence from his father. Pretty much what most of the movie we got had already covered, but more moments, context, time, and songs within that era as well.

This could around the end of his ‘Bad’ tour or a moment that was very impactful around then.

Movie 3: 1993-2009

This movie is going to be heavier with the scandals, but again with more time and space his story writes itself.

The ICONIC SUPERBOWL HALFTIME SHOW 1993 (jeez it’s so easy)… can tell the story of what lead up to it, reimagine it.. what it did going forward for the NFL’s halftime show… this could either be within the beginning or 2nd act of the movie. Michael still had motion in the 90s and 2000s… Remember the Time, Black or White, JAM, Stranger in Moscow, Rock My World… Chris Tucker..

While all that’s going on.. the dark side of the film would be the scandals and how they’d approach it. This film would be a lil darker and not as sunshine as the first 2 films but still there could’ve been a good balance with the elements of his work and the scandals. Throwing some lore of the Dangerous and HIStory Tours in there would help. Maybe even the Oprah interview…

Third act ending with This is It and his tragic passing. With what would’ve been a mild-dark motif throughout the franchise of his drugs/pain-med addiction

Disclaimer and Final thoughts:

I’m aware of the legality issues of the original movie’s release. The original cut is 4 hours, but if they didn’t have the legality issues, I still think the 2-3 movies should’ve been the route they took. Even with the legality issues.. they still could’ve executed most of the first 2 movies.

Also honoring Quincy Jones a little more would’ve been nice… he passed during the making of this film, so some nod or moment for him would’ve been appropriate. Quincy had much to do with musical magic Michael’s Off the Wall - Thriller - Bad era which I think enhanced Michael’s career.

With the way the original movie is, I find it hard to see how the second movie would uphold a balanced tone. And I honestly hope they find a way to release the 4hr cut of the original film

Finally I’ll say, during his latter years and maybe throughout his life at times, I don’t think there was a good amount of people to tell the true intricacies of his life, even his brothers. So unless he had an autobiography available it’s possible that making these 3 movies may have been difficult to tell his true story especially with all the legalities and people’s fingerprints on this movie

Thanks if you made it this far
