Hey, I’m trying to troubleshoot a weird issue on my Bakeneko 60 (hotswap PCB).
A whole group of keys on the left side has stopped working: Esc, Tab, Caps Lock, Left Shift, and Left Ctrl.
The rest of the keyboard works completely fine.
What I’ve already tried:
Tested switches (all working in other positions)
Bridged socket contacts with tweezers (no response)
Reinstalled switches
Checked VIA / key tester (keys still don’t register)
From what I can tell, it looks like a full column or matrix line failure, but I’m not sure if it’s:
dead hotswap sockets
broken PCB trace
bad diode in that column
or something else in the matrix
Before I start soldering or replacing sockets, I wanted to confirm what the most likely failure point is on these boards and what the proper fix would be (bridge wire, socket replacement, etc.).
