First play through since playing the original blue and red versions a bunch as a kid. Back then I would always go for who I thought was the strongest, and always ended up with pretty close to the same six (arcanine, jolteon, nidoking, maybe mix it up with a different legendary bird, charizard or blastoise, etc. ) each time. This time, I went with a no starter run and all favorites. Just the ones I always thought were coolest but not necessarily optimized. (A slight compromise is I would probably say Ninetales is my favorite fire type, but the version split meant an either/or with both scyther and cloyster, whereas rapidash is a close second fave).
