Need help with a decision here! I currently have an EQ6-R Pro mount, the AT72edii and the AT115EDT scopes. I got the AT115EDT a little over a year ago and haven't touched my 72 since. I thought I'd break it out more often for wider field imaged, outreach (scouts, school, neighborhood, camping) but just never have because if I'm going to lug that huge mount, may as well lug the bigger scope too.
My option for something with more portability and ease for outreach, travel, camping, would be to sell the 72ed and get something like the Seestar S30pro + accessories, or keep the AT72 and get something like a skywatcher GTi (same price as the Seestar outright). Budget including what I could get for the scope would be max $1500, keep under $1000 ideally.
I know the S50pro is going to be a thing eventually, but with the chip shortages, prices of everything, supply chain issues piling up due to our stable-genius-dear-lord-and-savior-smartest-man-in-the-world-president, I don't see the S50pro coming out until Q4 2026 or 2027.
