Need some advice

I am planning on purchasing my first turntable and would like to spend under $1000. I currently stream via a wiim ultra to Wharfedale Super Lintons and a HSU ULS 15 sub. I am planning on using the phono stage on the wiim ultra. I thought about buying used, but decided I just want something that is plug and play out of the box. I may consider upgrading cartridges in the future. I've narrowed it down to these two models.

Music Hall 3.3 with listen up upgrades ($750)

-ortofon blue cartrdige

-acrylic platter

-bubble level

Technics SL 50 c ($900)

-ortofon red

It seems to me that the components of the Music Hall are probably better for the price, but I do like the aesthetics of the Technics and the idea of direct drive. I believe the Music Hall has VTA adjustment while the Technics does not. I'm not sure how important that is.

Does anyone have any strong opinions about these two tables? I am a feeling overwhelmed and need some guidance. Thanks!
