I’m in my 40s, drowning in debt, jealous of friends abroad, and feel like I missed my chance at life

Problem/Goal:

How do you deal with envy when everyone you know seems to be thriving abroad?

Context:

Anyone else in their 40s, with children, feel left behind watching everyone move abroad and succeed? I can’t stop comparing myself to friends abroad and it’s destroying me mentally. Too old, too broke, too weak to start over, even my partner just want to stay in this God forsaken country. Reality is, this is our only choice. To stay.

Previous Attempts:

Move on, and try to not think about it.
