Hi everyone,

I’ve gone back and forth about posting this, but I’m at a point where I’d really value insight from people who’ve been through this process or are looking to start their (next) journey.

I’m a 42-year-old British trans man based in the California (US citizen), and becoming a dad is something I’ve wanted since I was a young child. I always used to think that when I grew up, that was what would happen but the body had other plans.

I currently have four PGT-tested embryos stored at a clinic in Los Angeles, so I’m in a position to move forward, but I want to do it the right way.

Over the past couple of years, I’ve had a few situations fall through (1 in Canada, and one in the UK), which has made me more careful and much more focused on doing an independent journey in a structured, ethical, and legally sound way.

I’m only interested in gestational surrogacy in the US, with:

-clinic-based embryo transfer

-full medical and psychological screening

-independent legal representation for everyone involved

I’m posting here mainly to hear from others who’ve gone through US surrogacy (especially as a single parent or LGBTQ+), learn what worked, what didn’t, and what you wish you’d known to understand the best way to connect with the right surrogate or

If anyone has guidance, experiences, or even just pointers on where to start or who to trust, I’d genuinely appreciate it.

I’m primarily here to learn and connect, but if anyone on here feels genuinely aligned and open to a properly structured independent US gestational journey, I’d be open to that conversation as well.

I know this is a big process, and I’m approaching it with a lot of respect and intention; I just want to meet my baby and build my family in the most stable and thoughtful way possible.

I am ready to move forward as soon as the right match is found, and I really value clear, respectful communication throughout the journey.

Thanks so much for reading.
