▲ 4 r/ATT

Home visiting my parents, while out and about my mom wanted to go into the AT&T store to find out why her AutoPay had turned off. While we were in there the salesperson got to work on asking as many questions as humanly possible about providers and plans and pretty soon was working up quotes to have them look at. Currently they have Fiber with ATT but have been on US Cellular (T-Mobile) for wireless as they did not have any impetus to switch. For Fiber they've been on the Gig plan for $90 a month since there used to be a data cap on the lower tiers which looks like its since been removed.

The final quote he handed over was for 4 lines (for two people) and getting two phones on promotional prices. The Quote ID is F93JK9 in case that matters to anyone here.

3 Lines of AT&T Extra 2.0 / $32 Each (There's a note on the 3rd line that it can be a 50GB hotspot for use at their camper. But I'm under the impression their own lines have hotspot they could just as easily use so I don't really get why its there)

1 Line of AT&T Value 2.0 / $24

1 iPhone 17e / $5.99 a month for 36 months

1 Samsung Galaxy S25 FE / $10.99 a month for 36 months

Total is $136.98 a month ($120 after 36 months)

And I'm assuming there are some charges and fees that still need to be added but are not present on the quote

Current payment for US Cellular is $179.02 (They've been carrying a 3rd line for my sister but that can be dropped so like mentioned above only two people on the plan)

It just seems to me that this proposed plan wouldn't really work out to THAT much of a savings. When I mentioned the 55+ plan bundle to the guy he sort of waved it off and said "yeah thats there but this is actually a better savings)

Neither of them are power users and only occasionally pull up a video outside the house. Any big usage is going to be at home on Wi-Fi

Just want to know if I am missing something with this, thanks!
