Its been a month+ of sleep struggles, back and forth between my twins. We definitely have teething happening- Twin B has two top molars through, Twin A had an eruption cyst on a bottom molar last week and now has atleast that one molar through (she won’t let me see or feel the others), and there has been separation anxiety first from Twin B, and now from Twin A.

The question of whether they need to make the transition to one nap is driving me a little insane. With the other issues going on, how do you know?

They‘re up at 6am

nap 930-1030

awake 1030-230

nap 230-330

Bed about 8 (Though lately it’s not necessarily a quick task for them to fall asleep, last night Twin A screamed, we went in and gave her Motrin and settled her. Twin B who had quieted down and was settled then got wound up and was in there singing, as my husband put it, until 835)

So 3.5 / 4 / 4.5. Naps generally are still pretty dependable and are going as they should. There is no battle to get them down.

Is it more likely that the bedtime struggle and early wakes are from the teething or is time to drop to one nap? Everything I’ve read says they’re too young before 14 months. They will be 14 months on the 25th. I don’t want to jump the gun if the issue here is the teething. I posted about something else recently and someone said they are not getting enough sleep at 12 hours, so that has been on my mind too. I feel like I am doing something wrong.

Any thoughts / experiences to share?

I have 13 month old twins, this morning I gave them their tooth brushes after breakfast, I noticed one daughter had blood in her mouth, I looked and saw a lump on the bottom gums. I managed to get my finger in to touch and it did not feel like a tooth, it wasn’t hard. She has 8 teeth and I know molars are going to be coming soon, but I figured the top would come first, bottom not for a couple months.

I’m having trouble getting a good look, or a picture- has anyone else seen something like what I’m describing? Is this a tooth coming through or should I be concerned? We haven’t seen blood before with her other teeth. Pic attached, you can see her 4 teeth, a gap and then this bump on the far right.
