I hope this doesn’t come off as fighting words, as I’m currently looking for an apartment and considering Logan. That being said…why is this entire area so expensive?
I totally get that it’s trendy and that living close to the blue line will incur a premium. That being said, Logan remains expensive when…not close to the blue line, and not especially trendy. I’m legitimately surprised by the prices I’m seeing for garden units and attics both far west and far south. Stuff remains expensive pretty far north into what is basically Avondale.
Again, I like Logan, but a lot of it isn’t especially walkable and some of the main roads seem dangerous for biking. And tbh even some stretches of Milwaukee just have…nothing. Is it maybe that a lot of the houses in the area are just bigger, with more bedrooms, making it harder to find a one bed (or one bed plus), one bath for like 1800?
I know rents are increasing throughout Chicago but there are other cool areas that seem more reasonably priced to me.
