Hi there,
I’m hoping someone can share any insights or might even know someone looking to rent their unit.
I just started a job working as a VP for a big global firm. Base salary is over $145k, with $20k annual bonus guarantee in year 1 and started two months ago
Prior to this role, i took a role at a startup. Most of the work was commission based with the opportunity for future residual income and potentially equity in the company. Unfortunately, we didnt scale the way I had hoped (various reasons), and my income was 80 percent less than it is now. I bet on myself and while these experiences were so invaluable despite the financial hardships they caused, now I feel stuck and frankly a little hopeless. I was living with my best friend and paying him directly, so was short sighted on the credit piece when I took the startup role since I had been at the same place for 2 years.
I know the guarantors is an option, but given the 1.5 times rent floated around for the guarantee fee plus first months rent, I’m just wondering if there’s a better way, or if The Guarantors is the only real option. Does anyone know of any building that are more lenient, or have any leads on any private landlords with current availability?
Also, to all those going through hard times right now, hang in there, it gets better. I felt the weight of the world before I landed this job and was so scared. I have plenty of work ahead of me, but I see a path. Don’t be afraid to ask your friends/network for help and support. It can make all the difference. Something better is just around the corner, and I’m rooting for you from afar
