I am a IT Support Specialist for a company's branch offices, all in all i am in charge of most if not all the physical infrastructure in my environment. When i was first hired on I had no experience in IT since this is my first job in this field (I a still in school for bachelors, but I have the A+, and cloud+ certification already), I am also the only IT person on site so a lot of issues that came up i had to fix through trial and error. One issue i have come across is that I need to console in to one of my switches (Cisco CBS350) and I was wondering if i am able to use a ethernet cable to console in to the console port? I have googled it online and it says i need a serial or console cable but, after speaking to a network tech a couple months ago i vaguely remember them saying you can use a ethernet cable to console into it to check its port configurations. It might seem like a noob question but i genuinely don't want to risk severely breaking anything, because i honestly want to learn more about networking and i don't want to start off by breaking something the first time i try a networking task.
