Do I have to sign in with a google account on these android based DAPs?

hi everyone, I’m quite new to these DAPs everyone has;(I’m old school iPod and Zune days) and it seems that most of them are android based. I have a bit of a bone to pick with Google but that’s besides the point. I was just wondering if these are a normal android and you use a specific app or is the underllying OS just android but it’s still predominantly a player what’s the deal?

Came across an old Apple super drive at a used electronics store, I know there’s mixed opinions on it but that’s besides the point, it looked cool, I have a bunch of Apple kit, and I felt like reliving some of the good old days and just putting a cd in to listen to it, yes I could search it on the streaming services, but it just felt nice to dig out my old CD wallet and pick something out, now I just need to find some old crappy wired headphones to complete the experience
