I’ve been running in the ASICS Novablast 5 for a while now and just finished a marathon in them, while I found them ‘fun’ I struggled with shin and knee pain throughout my training block. I used to run in a Hoka Clifton 9 and while they were good, I didn’t get as much enjoyment out of them.

Post Marathon I’m trying to stay focused on consistency and improving my 5km time, 10km time and half marathon etc. without injury.

For reference I am a heavier runner at 100kg but have a neutral gait and a 5km PB of 26 minutes. I’m really just trying to find a nice Daily Trainer that is a kind of do it all on easy, tempo and long runs that will help me avoid injury until I invest in a tempo trainer later in the year

I’ve been researching and looking at a few shoes but would love some more recommendations and/or reviews of the below to help me decide. Any help greatly appreciated!

Shoe Considerations

- Nike Vomero 18
- Saucony Ride 19
- Stick with a new pair of Novablast 5
