Basically, this is my first time getting a perm, and honestly I feel pretty bad about how it turned out.
I expected something more like a ready-to-go style with soft, loose waves. I even showed reference photos (5th pic), but right now it looks way more frizzy and messy than what I had in mind.
My hairdresser told me it’s normal and that it’ll look rough at first, and that it should settle down after ~48 hours. But I’m not sure if that’s actually true or if this is just a bad perm.
For context: My natural hair is thick and straight (see photos 3–4), I asked specifically for a soft/loose perm, not tight curls. Right now it looks more like random frizz + small curls instead of controlled waves. So I’m trying to understand, will it actually relax and look better after a couple of days or does this already look like the wrong technique..
Any advice or similar experiences would really help.
