My nephew is now 7 years old. His paternal grandmother is insisting to get him circumcised and have surgery on his belly button.

We are not Muslim, and the child has a completely normal, slightly protruded belly button.

A retired government pediatric surgeon examined my nephew and confirmed that no surgery is required. Despite this, the grandmother remains adamant, and unfortunately my brother in law tends to follow his mother’s wishes.

What steps can I take to prevent them from going ahead with these unnecessary procedures?
