Heartland Pioneer BH270 2018. Electrical help with no power in half the outlets, and half the small overhead lights. Tried a few suggestions, including GFCI. Need advice
As title says. I am living in a 2018 Heartland Pioneer BH270 Travel trailer on a lot of property. While the trailer has/uses a 30-amp plug I believe, the landlord's Shore power is for 12v/150 amp, so I have a plug converter for the 30-amp plug, that makes it possible to plug into the standard 12v outlet that is the shore power. This problem has persisted for about a month, and don't know what to do without calling a mechanic.
I have tried resetting my trailer's breaker switches, AND the shore breaker switch that controls my trailer's plug-in and tried resetting the GFCI. I have looked everywhere for a second GFCI outlet and I can't find a second one, only the bathroom one.
I have power for A/C, the microwave, for the GFCI outlet in the restroom, and for the outlet above the sink. The red lights to watch your step outside the trailer also work. The rest of the outlets don't work (behind the couch, where a TV would go, top bunk bed, bottom right of bottom bunkbed, and both outlets in master bedroom).
Additionally, only few of the ceiling lights work. The bathroom ceiling light, the stove fan light, the ceiling light above the sink, and also the light right above the table. The 3 ceiling lights in the middle of the trailer, literally above the walkway, don't turn on.
After unplugging the trailer, I tried examining the plug and converter, and took it off. There was a bit of corrosion on the trailer plug, so I scraped it off for more metal contact. But still, same issues. I am needing to use an extension cord just to plug in my computer for power into the GFCI outlet...
I am not sure if the two car batteries in the front of the trailer have anything to do with this, even though I am plugged into shore power. I checked the connections to the batteries, and they are both fine. Perhaps one or both batteries are dead?
There have been times where the shore power breaker would go out due to too much load, but that rarely happens, and I just reset the breaker switch since I live on the property.
I am in desperate need of advice and where to start testing. Not sure why some of the outlets and ceiling lights work, but the rest dont. I have sent 20 verification emails on the Heartland Owners Forum to post this there first, but I haven't got any of the verification emails and thus cannot post on there. TIA for your time and advice.
