Caroline is my go to name for a daughter because I want to honor a family member who had the same name. I also think it's a beautiful name to begin with, I like how elegant(?) and maybe vintage it sounds? I like Colette for similar reasons, but I worry about having two daughters with the same initials, so I'd be interested in anything with a similar vibe that doesn't also start with a C. My name is Marjeta, (Mah-ri-etta) and although I love it, I don't want to give any of my children a name that's as difficult to pronounce in English as mine. Other names that are important to me in my family but aren't necessarily names I'd like to use directly are Bonnie, Janet, Bruce and Harry. I think Harry is a wonderful name for a boy but I wouldn't feel comfortable using it because of the pop culture associations. Liam and Ian are other boy names I like, but can't use because of close family/friends sharing the names. Names with Czech or German heritage would be good in theory but I'm not sure if I really like them in practice haha.
