Started calling the surgery center, doctor’s office and now my insurance company a month prior to my surgery just because I KNEW it wouldn’t be easy to ensure that everything would be covered for my bilateral salp I’m getting in June. I have Oscar insurance which falls under ACA. But today I called them and of course they’re claiming they don’t cover bilateral salps once I gave them the 58661 surgery code. I asked the representative to send me a list of what Oscar DOES cover and of course he said he’ll “send it over” so we’ll see about that. I emphasized that they fall under ACA and that it’s a preventative birth control and is 100% suppose to be covered by ACA insurers. I’m doing more research about how to push back and get them to cover it before calling them further. Anyone else have Oscar and dealt with this??
