(apologies if this is the wrong tag to use, first time posting here and I’m not sure what this falls under)

Hi,

I’m not sure if I’m asking in the right place, but I’m a little paranoid with my devices lately, and this concerned me. I have an ASUS ROG Strix (not sure what model, I can’t check right now).

I was playing REPO with my friends, and a very brief static screen flashed on my external monitor - I have a laptop, not a PC. (And I mean SUPER brief. Like, a split second brief.)

My main laptop screen was unaffected (or at least, I think it was unaffected, I’m pretty sure I didn’t see the static, my eyes were focused on my external monitor).

I’m really paranoid about laptop/device safety, and I just want to know if this was a hiccup or something serious.

This is the first time this has EVER happened on my laptop (I’ve had this laptop since 2021), I’ve never seen it before - not to my memory at least - not before or after I got my external monitor. I think I’ve had my monitor since December? Somewhere around there.

I use an HDMI cable to connect my laptop to my monitor, and have the latest GPU driver update. My external monitor is the Prism+ F250i.

Again, I apologise if this was the wrong place, or if I’m being overly paranoid. I just want to double check on here.

Thanks for reading, hope you have a pleasant day.
