I am a veteran with lifetime VA insurance (including dental) and my wife and other dependants have CHAMPVA. It essentially functions like Medicaid if you are unfamiliar.
My job offers an HDHP with company HSA contributions and I am wondering if it makes sense, given we both have health insurance. My worry is that CHAMPVA might be a hassle, even though it is currently working very for us. I know HSA is a great wealth building tool but I wonder if my situation is unique enough that I ought to park those funds somehwere else.
I've also though about just contributing enough to get the match, maxing the HSA or optiing out of the company insurance completely. Thoughts?
