Hiiiii everyone! I’m a complete beginner, Ive never held a camera before but I have a clear vision for what I want to create and would love some guidance before I invest
Ive been told many times that the skill matters more than the gear and thats its a tool which i understand but i just want to have a plan.
Budget: $2,200 USD total (body + lenses + accessories)
I understand that it can be expensive, I dont have a strict budget but i dont really wanna spend more than that as a beginner.
Country: USA
Condition: New or used, on marketplace ive seen quite a few listings around $1,700-$2,000. Some come with a kit.
Type of Camera: Mirrorless hybrid (photo + video)
Intended Use: Primarily video with some photography
If Photography; What Style: Travel/lifestyle, self portraits, landscapes, wildlife, birds, insects, nature
If Video What Style: I want to film travel vlogs as i’ll be in europe for a few months, i really like how film looks so Fuji seems to be recommended but i do want to learn colorgrading and cinematography.
What Features Do You Absolutely Need:
Flip/articulating screen for vlogging
Little to none overheating for long continuous recording
Good low light
Log shooting capability
Good Autofocus
Portability: will be traveling.
Cameras Considering:
- Sony ZV-E10 II (youtuber reccomendations)
- Sony A7III
- Panasonic S5II - apparently it doesn’t overheat and is best for videography
Cameras Already Have: DJI Osmo Action 3.
Havent used it. Also my phone is an Iphone 17 pro max?
I just take pictures of bugs
I wanna have a primary camera, digital cameras ( i have made a list already) for insta pictures, dji osmo 3, and a vintage camcorder i have one but idk how it works might be broken.
Notes: Complete beginner. All of my “research” comes from youtube, tiktok, reddit, and Ai suggestion. Purchasing in August. I WANT to learn everything manually. Which should i get as my first camera :)
Thankyou for those that have read all of this :)
