Hi,
I am a full-time neonatal ICU nurse that works 4 days, 32 hours/week and I am super active and a pursuer for health and wellness, self-care and fitness in my daily routine. I have an unlimited reformer pilates membership with LA fitness that I attend 3-4 days a week, had a previous membership with SolidCore, and occasionally try different boutique reformer studios in the Bay Area.
Recently, I have been inspired to have a side gig out of my full-time RN job, but I do not want to do anything else bedside related. I have been curious and interested in becoming a pilates instructor, but I do not know where to start. I have a background in wellness education for college students as a part time on-campus job during my undergraduate years in college that I enjoyed, so this has been a similar target for keeping that spark in me.
I definitely would prefer a teaching/certification academy that has more flexibility and asynchronous opportunities. Also, should I dive into the mat course first or go to mat + reformer course right away? I have no mat pilates experience, so I'm stuck on which course I should proceed with. What are different ways you can have access to a reformer to practice your teaching?
Thanks!
