This is our first home… a midcentury modest ranch with orange brick with pink and peach variations and pink grout. 🫣 And it looks like a bunker.

When initially touring we were immediately turned off by the curb appeal but the interior layout was perfect for our needs. We referred to it as “the Marla Hooch House” because she wasn’t pretty on the outside but the layout… “what a hitter.” Last summer we had the landscaping professionally redone in an effort to increase the curb appeal and the plants definitely helped and are starting to fill in.

The trim and gable ends are due for a paint refresh as the paint is beginning to fail. Partner wants to keep the brick as is and just paint wood trim. I’m open to lime washing for a more cohesive exterior and have been looking into the Romabio line of products. (Any insights from those that have used it? Color options etc?)

Many of the neighbors have removed the iron work on the porch in favor of more simple wood posts. My partner and I both agree on keeping the iron… not sure about keeping or losing the shutters.

My partner is definitely a visual person… Anyone have AI skills to mock up a more modern refresh?

Thank you in advance
