Dull ache

Hi guys. It’s my first time writing here, I hope it’s the right thread.

32 M. It started 2 months ago with some stinging pain (moderate) in my anus. I thought it was hemorroids, I went to proctologist who did digital exam and anoscopy. He found three small piles and said my prostate is fine. However since then the stinging pain kind of translated into a dull ache around my anus which gets worse if I lay down in bed, sit down for a long time or lift weights, and seems to improve if I walk.

I am a very anxious and obsessive person, so I started to get very anxious about these symptoms until I found this pelvic floor page here on Reddit. I guess my symptoms match hypertonic pelvic floor but wanted to double check with you guys, and if so what can I do?

To recap, my symptoms include

- Dull ache around my rectum. Hard to pinpoint exact location
- the discomfort seems to radiate towards tailbone
- I feel ache near rectum after ejaculation and to a less extent when I urinate
- bowel movements are fine (no blood etc), only 3 small internal piles

Thanks for your help 🙏🏻

Hi! I started Effexor XR 3 weeks ago. First week at 37.5 mg and then 75mg. My sleep is very disrupted. I wake up many times each night feeling alert (not anxious but just awake). The sleep feels very light, almost as if the night sleep is a sequence of small naps. I take the dose in the morning. I tried OtC supplements, they do nothing. Only thing that works is lorazepam, but don’t wanna take it each night. I feel quite anxious in the morning and then in the afternoon I feel the serotonergic effect.

I have been on sertraline previously for 5 years and had no problem sleeping, but developed GI issues which is why I switched to Effexor.

I have heard sleep disturbances can get better, but this is really interfering with my work and daily life. Anyone else with similar experience?

If I wanna switch back to Zoloft (under supervision of my psychiatrist), is gonna be a rough journey?

Thanks!
