I’m planning a trip to Meghalaya as a solo female traveller possibly by 20th or end of May. I checked out packages of travel companies which cover major spots, hikes and waterfalls but I lean more towards slow travelling so I’m thinking to start with a day in Shillong and if there’s a village nearby with a good homestay I can stay for few days and explore around with a local guide. Please share advice and tips. I understand the importance of respecting different culture and would love to know more.
