The Betrayal
Trapped inside that empty house,
She beats the glass sobbing
Till her hands turn crimson
Her throat almost rips now,
She screams through the window,
But he's not turning back
Not granting even his shadow
Under that roof,
She clung to the love he showed
In the hours she remained aloof
The words she heard
"Yeah, love shall save you"
She was the culprit
Who told him to leave
As a final trial of his loyalty
He always knew better
Still chose to honor her desire
As the ultimate betrayer
Vanishing into the fog
He wraps his cruelty as kindness
Promised she'll get out someday
But didn't leave her a map
And the wise fool remains
Lost in what she sought
He became her storm and the shore too
But now her illusion shatters
When he is already stepping
Towards the sunlight
In those lively green landscapes
They dreamt of in the nights
His name is now the final prayer,
The sole sound in that house,
Sitting there she remembers
In that dusty room
Where sunlight never seems to reach
Black and white and gray
All the pages she wrote him on
Are now just flying around
Finding the one they were meant for
Before they turn pale and dead
She believes his touch
Will paint them back to life
Oh, now when she finally decides
To turn her eyes from his back
She notices the mirror
That was always there
Oh, her beloved, she looks
Lifeless...
With the blood on her hands
As the only evidence left
She caresses her cheek
Pretending it's his hand
And now her face is red too
She takes a page
And with her blood
She draws his face
Again
And again
And yet again—
But the face never turns out right
