To preface, I (21F) am a college student and share a room with my roommate (22F). She has a boyfriend (22M) who sleeps over like every night which isn’t a huge deal since I’m frequently over at my boyfriend’s place. However, when I do sleep at home, I often end up waking up (sometimes multiple times) in the night from her boyfriend‘s snoring.
My roommate snores too, but she and I have a close relationship so I feel fine waking her up so she can turn on her side if I’m unable to fall back asleep due to the snoring. However, I’m not sure how to deal with the boyfriend’s snoring—which definitely falls under the category of chainsaw level loud. He and I aren’t close enough for me to tell him, but it would also be really weird to ask her if I can wake him up.
Point is, how should I phrase this to them? And should I just go straight to the source or talk to my roommate first? I know snoring isn’t something people can help, but it’s really disrupting my sleep. Thank you!
