Had my mechanic drain and fill my transmission fluid about 5k miles ago and trusted that they did a good job until I happened to check it this week. Ran the car for about 30 min home from work, parked it on flat surface, cycled through all the gears for about 15 seconds each, and then measured the transmission fluid level with engine on and seems like it’s certainly overfilled. I have a fluid extractor but not sure how much to take out and whether it’s best to do it cold, warm or hot. Was inclined to start with about 0.5 qt and remeasure but curious if anyone else has thoughts.
