What should I do with my money so I can move out at 18? And how much money should I save up to move out at 18 in a big city?

I need to move out at 18 and I am currently 16. I have a little over 5k saved up, so what should I do with that money so that at 18 I have enough to move out? I’m in an expensive city, so I’ll need enough to be in university while having my own apartment. I can’t have my parents set up anything regarding money, by the way. Also, they won’t provide me any financial support.

I keep procrastinating on my studies and homework. I don’t know what to do. I can’t ask my parents for help because they just say I’m lazy.

The only way I can focus is if I drink a lot of coffee. It’s even harder when I’m home from school because I don’t have anyone telling me what to do. I have my AP exams soon and I feel like I’m going to fail them because I’ve barely studied for them. The rest of my classmates seem to have already began studying months ago for them. I tell myself to study, but then it’s like I can’t. I can mostly focus on my work and not procrastinate at school, but at home is awful. I need to drink at least three-four cups of coffee just to get work done. Thing is, afterwards I feel so tired and I just keep procrastinating more. I don’t know what to do.

I want to start a bank account without any of my parents help to keep my money in there. I don’t really want to state why, but I can’t really trust my parents with it. (Not for anything weird, just want to save up for college/my apartment when I move out)

I think it varies from state, but I’m in California, so is there any options to start a bank account here as a 16 year old?
