Just wanted to share/vent about a recent scary situation that put me and my husband in a super stressful position and might help someone in’ a similar situation. At our 20 W anatomy scan, the sonographer measured my cervix length and notified my OB that I was short measuring at 2.4 cm. They say 2.5 and above is a good place to be in and over 3 cm to be normal. My OB immediately asked me to start on 200mg progesterone suppositories and come back for weekly monitoring along with doing pelvic rest and modified bed rest. Ooh we also had to cancel our travel plans to Hawaii for our babymoon, which also got me super upset and bummed at the time but cancelled everything in the best interest of the baby.

At 21W scan, my cervix shortened further measuring between 1.7-2.1 cm, the sonographer really scared us told me to do strict bestest. I was upset, shocked and terrified about what would happen next. My doctor seemed super chill and never talked about cerclage or referring me to MFM, which scared me even more. Anyways, I continue to follow all the instructions and take it easy. We went back yesterday for our 22W scan and the cervix measure 3.03 cm!!!!!!! We were SO relieved and happy, I literally teared up looking at the screen. My OB told me that I can continue to do pelvic rest + progesterone until 28 weeks for peace of mind (which I’m going to do) and resume light activity. This made me super happy! We go back for our 24W scan in 2 weeks.

Was anybody else in a similar situation? While I’m super relieved and happy, also want to proceed with caution. Would love to know other people’s success/scary stories so I can be prepared! Also lmk when you ended up going into labor!! Ty 💕
