Church-going families, how are we handling church and nap time?

My baby is 6 months and I am once again sitting in the nursery at church with an overtired baby that just fell asleep as the service ended.

She wakes around 6:30/7, and we leave for church a little after 9. She ends up sleeping in the car for ~10 min on the way to church, then wakes up wired and hungry. She’s too interested in her surroundings/the sounds around her, so she fights napping and sometimes nursing. By the time the service finishes at 11, she’s cranky and overtired, then takes a ~10 min nap on the way home, where the cycle repeats. Shes going from 7 am to 1 pm without a real nap, and it sucks the whole time. We aren’t even that structured with naps on a daily basis but she does need naps!

Are we just skipping church until they're older? Full confession, I used to think parents that didn’t come because of nap time were being ~extra~ but I am eating my words and now I get it. I apologize to everyone everywhere because I was so, so wrong.
