Data Center Technicians - Google & Meta

I was wondering if I could hear from any DCT's that work at Google about their experiences. Is there anyone who works (or worked) at Google as a DCT who could tell me how it is?

I was also wondering the same thing for Meta. I have heard lots of bad things about Meta, especially the Work-Life balance. Is there anyone who has experience at Meta as a DCT who could tell me what it's like?

Also, if you do want to comment, please let me know what experience and certifications you had when you started out, and if you had a degree, because I want to know where I can start to try and eventually work at a hyperscale like Google, or Microsoft, etc.

Degree for a data center technician

Best degree for a data center technician?

I have been interested in becoming a data center technician recently and was wondering what degree I should get. My mom works at my local community college so that would allow me to get a degree cheaper than others. By the way, I want to be a DCT who is physically working on servers and the hardware doing troubleshooting etc. I have asked a LLM but I would also like a humans input. Here's a list of the IT related degrees that my college has.

Computer hardware/software design A.A.S.

CIS A.A.S.

CIS A.A.S With internet technology option

Computer science A.S.

Electrical technology - Electronics A.A.S.

Informational Technology A.S. (Claude told me this is my best option)

I know DCT'S do not need a degree but It will probably give me an upper hand when it comes to hiring. Thank you!

Comptia certifications for a DCT

Okay, I have heard many things about these certifications, people say not to get A+ then some people say to get it. People say security+ is easier than A+ and I should get it over A+. What do I do? Any data center technicians who are currently working or have been employed previously have tips? I need to know what certifications I should get now and what are worth getting to become a DCT.

Edit: Are there certifications better than comptia? I have heard things about Cisco as well.

A degree an IT A.S. for a DCT

I recently have been interested in becoming a DCT. I was wondering if getting an IT degree that focuses on network administration at my local community college is worth it. My mom works at the college so I really would not need to pay a whole lot. They also have an IT help desk rhat I could possibly work at which would gain me experience as well. Does anything think this is a good idea, if not, do you reccomend something else?
