I admittedly have an unreasonable fear of fillings which is driving this question. But do I really need any work on my teeth? My dentist pointed at the tiniest little spot on a back molar that I genuinely could not see and said it needed work. I’ve had experiences with dentists recommending 5 or so fillings and then a second dentist said everything was a-ok for years following. I also floss every day and brush with special fluoride toothpaste for a full 2 minutes without fail and I get fluoride at the dentist every time I’m eligible so I’m frankly just skeptical.

I‘m in my early 30s, I don’t smoke, drink alcohol/coffee/tea/soda, no medications or any underlying conditions other than my phobia of drills in my mouth. Do I just have bad genes or bad luck or a drill happy dentist?
