TL;DR: Plastic surgeon told me I don’t need gyno surgery, that the risks would outweigh the benefits, and that my chest looks normal enough.
I’ve been feeling insecure about my putfy nipples ever since puberty, and still feel uncomfortable taking my shirt off (I always pinch my nipples, like many of you), despite working out quite a lot. I barely feel any gland tissue under my nipples, so I reckon that medically speaking my gyno is not that severe
I visited a plastic surgeon for a consultation to get surgery (since my nipples still really bother me), but she kind of laughed in my face and told me I don’t need surgery, that my nipples are normal, and that the risks associated with the surgery (nipple folding, etc) would outweigh the aesthetic benefit.
I am unsure how to proceed. Do you think this is body dysmorphia, and that I need to accept this, or is this actual gyno and would surgery help?
