Good morning all,
So I’m a current owner of a scribe, I am around screens all day for work and absolutely despise anything with led’s. I do love tech, writing, doodling, and reading so I was really excited when I learned about eink tablets. I ultimately am looking for a eink typewriter that doubles as a notate-able ereader. When my iPad tragically died and within the same day saw a good price for a scribe I bought it believing I could jailbreak away any issues I ran into. Which is my fault because I should have done actual research before purchasing.
My most important traits I wanted to have on my tablet are to type via a Bluetooth/external keyboard to write, have a built in book store and web access OR web access with the ability to download. It doesn’t need to be touch screen but a stylus/pencil so it’s writable is a must.
The way I see it I have a few options:
- Jailbreak and hope I’m able to type on it alright.
- Sell and buy a new tablet (I see a second hand Boox as a good option but so pricey for something I basically already have just running different firmware :( )
- Sell it get a freewrite (overpriced but under complicated) and get an iPad (I miss procreate but bleh screens) and say to hell with the complexities and overwhelming options.
- Think long and hard about creating my own writer deck and end up circling back to the following options.
Any suggestions or personal experiences are appreciated
