But… why does my 6m old now wake up every 2h?
From 3ish weeks to 3 months my baby did long stretches at night - 5-6h before first wake-up. He could also nap independently in the bassinet.
At 4 months as expected his sleep changed. Naps became harder - he wakes up more easily, falling asleep is harder and no nap will survive an attempted transfer so they are either contact or stroller naps.
Nights changed too: he slept in his bassinet but woke up more frequently - something like bed at 10pm, awake 3, 6, 8.
But from 5m3w this became worse?? Am I doing something wrong? Bedtime is still 9.30-10 and wake up is 8 (he really won’t fall asleep before then, I tried moving it by 10-15 mins and it didn’t work, but also to be fair it works for us). He now wakes every 2h or even 1.5.
Thing is - it’s not that he isn’t connecting sleep cycles right? As those are 30-45 mins. I don’t think it’s hunger either as he will suck on the boob for 3-4mins before falling asleep. Why could it be worse now at 6.5 months? I get that it could be wanting comfort but why would it be worse now when it seems that it starts to get better for most people?
For reference he takes 2-3 naps, total sleep time 3h.
