Dealer or Tire Shop

I have a slow leak in my tire and my service at the dealer is coming up in June. Car is 2.5 years old and only has 10,000 miles and I was wondering, are car dealers and tire repair shops equal in ability to repair tires? In the past I was always went to places like Sullivan Tire (popular in Massachusetts) and never had an issue and cost was reasonable.

Finding a Pool Leak

I'm in the Northeast US and have a slow leak in my 20,000 gallon liner pool. Been here 5 years and I remember having to lower the water over the winter but last year when I opened the water was at the returns. This year it was below the returns and at the light. I'm going to be paying $500 for a diver to come try and find the leak. Key areas are the light, the bottom drain, and/or my fiberglass stairs. I had tried finding the leak with a dye kit but wasn't successful but then again I was focused on the returns but those have been kind of eliminated now.

The company says I should also pay another $500 to get the equipment tested because we can't be sure it's not also leaking. I'm thinking yeah, that's technically true but we've eliminated my skimmer and two returns as the primary leak source because the water is below those. It could be the bottom drain but they says the solution if the bottom drain is leaking is to fill it in.

So, any suggestions on finding it? Waiting for warmer weather before I get in there. Spending $500 on the equipment test is a waste, right? Is filing the bottom drain the common solution if it's leaking or does it sound like the company I'm using just doesn't have the skill to fix it?

Thanks.

We're in Barbados now for 6 more days. Looking for a little hike on the east side of the island (we're staying near Sandy Beach by The Gap). We're looking for a hike with some views and not a crazy amount of people. We're in our 50s but we've hiked before. I've downloaded AllTrails app and one of my concerns is that some trails like Chalky Mount say they go on private property and it's shared with mountain bikers. Where I come from bikers and hikers don't always get along and a lot of residents don't like people in their property. Any concern here in Barbados? Also where I come from you usually don't want to touch high grass because you would get tick on you and get Lyme Disease. Any concerns like that here? Is a cautious amateur who's not familiar going to regret not hiring a local? Trying to get a romantic moment with a view and that's tougher with a guide or a stray dog biting your ankles. Thanks.
