My XPENG X9 was rear-ended recently, and the service center told me the repair may involve body cutting/sectioning.
This is exactly what makes me uncomfortable. The X9 is marketed as having an integrated die-cast body structure, but now after a rear-end collision, I’m being told the body may need to be cut and repaired.
So what does “integrated die-cast” actually mean for real-world repairability? If the structure is cut, how can the repaired car guarantee the same safety level as before? I have not received a clear written technical explanation from XPENG yet.
Also, the repair may take more than a month, but XPENG has not offered a loaner car or any real mobility support.
For a premium family EV/MPV, this feels unacceptable. Great marketing is one thing, but what happens after a crash matters much more.
