I know Duke Hyou is an instinctive general, but why didn’t he go through the mountains to Sai before Riboku got there ? He had the advantage of the land, since he was a chin general surly, he would have intel on all the ins and outs of the terrain. Also, he had the advantage of speed, since Riboku had 40 thousand men (mostly foot soldiers) while he had far less (mostly on horseback).
And when Riboku got to Sai, when he realized that Sai wouldn’t be so easily defeated, why didn’t he leave 20 thousand men with Houken as their general to besiege Sai while he took the other 20 thousand to raid Kanyou
And kankoku?
Idk, but these two thoughts have been on my mind ever since I read the Coalition Arc.
