Hello guys,

So I've been holding onto Sequoia on my 14inch M1 Pro (10C/16C - 16GB) since Tahoe was a mess when I got my MacBook back in January (it was 26.2 at the time), there were some glitches and performance definitely wasn't as good as Sequoia, the battery didn't last as long, the UI felt sluggish. (Well, you could see that it wasn't rendering at 120fps, while it always does on Sequoia)

But now that 26.5 is around the corner, I think it might be time to hop on the train. I'm really not the biggest fan of the redesign of the UI on the Mac, but I'll have to get used to it so why keep fighting

I already tried to upgrade to Tahoe back in February, and I ended up wiping my Mac, reinstalling Sequoia and I had to reinstall all of my apps etc. Took me like 4 hours.

So I'm definitely not doing this again. I cloned my SSD to an external 1TB NVMe on a USB-C enclosure, and I upgraded that to Tahoe 26.3.1. But again, it just didn't felt smooth, the whole system felt unresponsive, while on Sequoia everything is just instantaneous.

Thing is I know that Macs need some time to settle after an OS install/upgrade or updates, because of Spotlight indexing, ect. So the issue might've been caused by this. Or by the fact that the SSD was limited to 1GB/s.

Long story short, I want to know for those who have M1 Pros, how's Tahoe running ? Is it performing as well as Sequoia ? (For those who upgraded recently for example, or are dualbooting)

Both my iPhone, Watch and Apple TV are on 26.4/.2 and I know there's some new features that's only available on Tahoe so I don't really wanna miss out, even tho I'll have to get used to the bigger window border that eats up precious screen real estate for absolutely no reason.

Thanks guys.
