Setup:
- Home Assistant OS
- Apple TV as Home Hub
- UniFi network
- HomeKit Bridge via Home Assistant
- Apple TV and Home Assistant both use fixed IPs
- Apple TV is connected via Ethernet (not Wi-Fi)
- HomeKit bridge already reduced to only relevant devices/entities
Problem:
Every now and then (often overnight), all Home Assistant HomeKit devices stop responding in Apple Home / Siri.
Important:
- Home Assistant itself keeps working perfectly
- Devices can still be controlled normally inside Home Assistant
- Only the Apple Home / Siri side breaks
- Native Apple TV functionality continues to work normally
- Restarting ONLY the Apple TV immediately fixes everything
- Restarting Home Assistant is not required
What I already tested:
- Fixed IPs for HA and Apple TV
- Apple TV connected via LAN instead of Wi-Fi
- Reduced HomeKit bridge entities
- Tested UniFi multicast / IGMP settings
- Disabled Scrypted temporarily (no change)
- Home Assistant Core itself remains fully functional during the issue
Observations:
- It feels like the HomeKit/Home Hub session between Apple TV and HA gets stuck
- Possibly related to mDNS / HAP reconnect / Home Hub state
- Happens after the setup has been idle or overnight
Question:
Has anyone seen this exact behavior with:
Home Assistant + Apple TV Home Hub + UniFi?
Especially:
- HA continues working normally
- only HomeKit bridge devices die in Apple Home
- Apple TV reboot fixes instantly
