Hello, I'm going to be moving to Charleston by end of August. So why post here? Well because I don't want to get there and have no one that I know. I'm hoping to find someone older then me that at the very least can be a friend(s) down there but hopefully it be more then that. I'm going to be 25 by the time of the move, I'm a bear. Hello! So there are a lot of moving questions from people but I find myself still having some questions. I'm hoping to be moved down there by end of August and I'm moving completely blind from South Dakota. I know not a soul down there, and so I had some questions.
How is the job market? Because I have no great skill set, my background is bartending and retail management. A major concern of mine is that I won't be able to find a good job with those skills once I get down there.
For housing, what are the best places to look for roommates? While I'm getting my feet planted I don't want to try solo living as I fear the cost could be too high for me to afford.
I hate that I have to ask this but I am a queer person, what areas should I definitely NOT look for housing or work? We live in interesting times and if I can avoid moving to spaces that I would not be welcome that is always a plus.
