I'm the guy who lost my ICU job due to concerns about me being able to do my job. I ended up talking to an old classmate who suggested a better type of steroid shot that actually worked. However, I haven't been able to find work since I think I'm just going to call it quits. My license expires at the end of this month and my CPR search expire in august. It doesn't feel worth it to pay for license renewal when I live in a city that pumps out a bunch of nursing students multiple times a year. I'm well over a year graduated so I've lost my opportunity to work as a nurse. I truly did enjoy my ICU stint.

Maybe I will feel different if I was an experienced nurse struggling to find work but considering we have to pay to keep our license active along with CEU, it just doesn't seem worth it. I also don't see this getting any better because of bills that the administration is passing.

I see classmates getting their MSN and getting more certs and just really makes me feel bad. I'm going to focus on trying to find another career, but if not at least I have a non nursing job for now.

They're obviously many ways to make money and it doesn't necessarily require you to work a 9-5 but the way some of these people look at those of us who do so is hilarious. It's usually always someone who is working and doing work that is very fickle and up and down or someone who's not working at all.

There was a post in the Uber eats subreddit about how the driver didn't have to be an NPC and be stuck with an asshole boss like 9:00 to 5:00 individuals. He was bragging about taking the day off from delivering without having to consult anyone. When I and someone else brought up the fact that many jobs have some type of PTO and that we could take days off while also getting paid, we were called an NPC and entitled.

I'm glad that we have found other ways to make money, but I started to see a lot of disdain towards 9:00 to 5:00 that go beyond the general talking points. Many of the same people that shit talk people in traditional jobs require them to work for their lives to function.

About a week ago, I came here talking about how I received the text from someone I had been fucking on and off for several years that he had been exposed to an STD. I also mentioned that I was worried that he might not see me as a guy because the STD he got was one that usually is transferred between straight partners not gay men and that he had said he was pansexual.

A lot of people here said I was jumping to conclusions and that STDs can transfer between anybody. Which in general is correct but again, gay men and men that sleep with men, generally don't get the STD that he was exposed to.

Yesterday we had a conversation and he offhandedly commented about people not reading profiles on dating and hookup apps. He follows up with an example by saying that he has that he is not attracted to cis men and cis men continue to message him.

This is essentially what I was paranoid about. I basically became one of the same gay trans men that ends up in a situation with someone who doesn't see them as a man. It sucks because in other ways, he was a green flag, but now it may not be as innocent as I thought. I wish I had followed my own advice and not got involved with someone that labeled themselves pansexual. Now I just have to eat crow and realize I became the same gay trans guy that I tried to prevent others from becoming.
