Ok my first time here and apologies in advance if this post does not belong here. I recently bought a package which has one RCI stay of 7 nights in that package. So to use that stay I have to ask my agent to activate my package and once activated I have to use it in 3 months. If I don't find any relevant options for my upcoming vacation, I'll lose this rci option from my package.

Can someone help me with finding RCI availability for Switzerland? If this post makes sense, I'll provide my dates later on.

Coming up on my first renewal in June 2026 and looking for some strategy advice.

The Stats:

Original mortgage amount: $600k

Renewal Balance: ~$430k

Current Remaining Amortization: 14 years, 8 months (Aggressive lump sums shaved off ~10 years).

Offer: 3.79% 3-year fixed.

The Dilemma:

We plan to upgrade in the next 1–3 years. We’ll be porting this mortgage and adding $300k in new debt (Total: ~$730k).

If we keep the current 14-year amortization, the monthly payments on a $700k+ mortgage will be huge.

I’m considering extending the amortization back to 25 years at renewal this June to "unlock" better cash flow and ensure the future mortgage is affordable.

The Question:

Is it smarter to reset to 25 years now for the flexibility, or am I crazy to give up a 14-year path to being debt-free? Can I just use prepayments later to bridge the gap?

Appreciate any thoughts from those who have ported with a low amortization!
