A request for stories from women who have been approached: What went well? What went poorly?
A question I find myself absolutely paralyzed over: should I approach a woman in [situation]. I saw another post in this sub expressing frustration at the endless conflicting answers "Yes absolutely" "Well, maybe..." "No, unless..." "Not at all, just leave people alone." I feel like we're missing a whole hell of a lot of context when people give these yes/no/maybe answers. I want to learn more about what exactly is appropriate in a given scenario, and I think learning from examples is the best chance of doing that.
I want to hear from people who've been cold- or warm- approached in the past. What was the situation in which you were approached? What about the approach made you feel safe or unsafe, comfortable or uncomfortable? What turned you on, or turned you off, about the person approaching you? Did the interaction turn out to be pleasant, awkward, or creepy? I feel like learning more about all the variables here is really important for understanding the issue, so please share in detail even if your story doesn't have a crazy ending!
