How do I [20F] respond to a man [28M] who approached me at my job?
I'm not sure if this person uses reddit so I will not use any descriptors besides age.
Recently at my job I have had this customer approach me several times for my contact information and I have chosen to not give it out as I would not like to change my number if anything goes wrong. He gave me his phone number but I never used it because I don't like the idea of strangers having my phone number so this most recent time I gave him an old Instagram account that I update less frequently than my private account.
During our transaction at work I found out that he is 28 and I told him I was 20 yet he still seems interested in me. Part of me is uncomfortable with the age gap being so wide as I have never dated before. He has messaged me through dms already and i've let it sit for 2 days now because I don't know how to respond and I could use some advice from others who have/had relationships with a significant difference in age. I do not want to have his message sitting unanswered for long as that would make any work interaction awkward but I don't know how to express myself in a manner where he wouldn't feel slighted.
He seems polite and well mannered but I honestly felt a bit pressured so I gave him my social media and now I do not know what to do. I will see him at work again as I am picking up more shifts but I do not desire to date anyone at the moment because my degree is my priority.
Any advice is appreciated!
