My budgeting/invoicing app has just reached 500 downloads in about 4 months!!

I launched it without paying for ads or promotion, so honestly, I’m really happy with the result.

Right now it has:

  • 505 downloads
  • 162 monthly active users
  • 14.6 daily active users
  • Around 40% growth in active users

It’s not a huge number compared to bigger apps, of course, but for an independent and fairly niche app, I think it’s a pretty good sign. Especially because it’s not just getting downloads, people are actually coming back and using it.

I’m also preparing a fairly big update to take the app a step further: support for Spain’s VeriFactu system, more complete invoice issuing, automatic quarterly report generation, and other improvements aimed at freelancers and small businesses.

Now I’m thinking about the next steps: improving the Google Play listing, working more on ASO, or maybe trying a small amount of promotion.

What do you think of these numbers for an app that’s been live for around 4 months?
Would you keep prioritizing the product and new features, or would you start trying to promote it more?
