Good day all.
I want to install linux on a amd 4700s desktop kit, I have tried various different distributions, and all of them have the same problem when installing.

When you start the install it boots up the initial install screen loads up, normally the one that lets you choose the different versions of the install, like the safe mode, 32bit 64 bit etc, and then after you make a choice you get a black screen and there it stays, same thing happens when you load a live disk, or any utility that runs on linux. Windows install just fine.

What do I do and where can I get some help on how to get a working linux install on my machine?

Any ideas would be very welcome and apreciated
